The three models
Reseller
You buy at partner pricing, set your own retail price, invoice your customer and hold the recurring rev share for the life of the account. You own the relationship and the first line of support. This is the route most partners take, because it is where the recurring economics sit.
Referral
You introduce the opportunity and MANTIS closes, bills and supports it. You take rev share on closed business with no support or billing obligation. Suited to businesses that influence the buying decision but do not want to carry a product on their own paper.
Integration
You pull RECON video and risk data into your own product through documented APIs, with developer support and joint launch marketing. Commercials are agreed per integration, because the value split depends on who owns the customer contract.
Can I move between models?
Yes, and you can hold more than one at once. Referral partners who build sales capability commonly move to reseller after their first few deals, and plenty of partners stay both: resell where you want to own the billing and the rev share, refer the deals you would rather not carry. Nothing in the agreement locks you into the route you start on.
Pricing, rev share and billing
What does the customer pay?
Hardware, connectivity and the platform are bundled into a single monthly subscription per vehicle, so your customer has no upfront capital line to argue about. Resellers set their own retail price. Camera configuration, contract term and volume all move the partner price, and your partner manager prices each deal with you.
How is rev share calculated?
Rev share is the difference between your partner price and what you charge your customer, held every month for as long as the subscription runs. Deeper integration and higher committed volume improve the partner price, so effort compounds rather than resetting each year.
Who invoices the customer?
On the reseller model, you do, on your own paper and your own terms. MANTIS invoices you. On the referral model MANTIS invoices the customer directly and pays your rev share on collected revenue.
Is hardware sold or included?
Hardware is bundled into the monthly subscription, so your customer has no upfront capital line to argue about. Installation is quoted separately, by you or by an installer you appoint.
Account ownership and deal registration
Does MANTIS sell direct?
Yes. MANTIS sells directly as well as through partners, and we would rather say so here than have you find out mid-deal. What protects you is commercial: partner pricing is discounted far enough below direct pricing that you win on price, and deal registration protects the opportunities you bring us for the length of your sales cycle.
How does deal registration work?
You register the opportunity with your partner manager before quoting. A registered deal is protected for the registration period, which means no other partner is given the same opportunity and MANTIS will not quote around you.
Is there territory exclusivity?
No. Protection is at the account and deal level rather than geographic, and that registration is the mechanism partners rely on. Register early, because an unregistered opportunity is one anybody can quote, including us.
What happens if a customer leaves my book?
The subscription follows the contract. If your customer moves their telematics contract elsewhere, the safety subscription travels with the account, which is why the platform integration matters commercially as well as technically.
Product, installation and connectivity
What hardware is in the range?
Multi-camera systems from one to twenty-four channels, covering road, cabin, side and rear, specified per vehicle type rather than sold as a fixed bundle. Configuration is agreed per deal, so a mixed fleet is quoted as a mixed fleet.
How long does an install take?
A full multi-camera fit takes a trained technician most of a working day per vehicle. Two-camera configurations take considerably less. Partners with existing install teams are certified during onboarding and quote installation themselves.
How does the connectivity work?
Multi-network, unsteered IoT connectivity is included in the subscription, so a vehicle holds a data path across more than one carrier rather than depending on a single network’s coverage map.
What does camera health reporting actually promise?
It gives you visibility of failure, not immunity from it. Every camera on every vehicle is checked daily and anything failing is flagged, so you know a camera is down before an incident rather than discovering it during a claim.
Support, training and certification
Who supports the end customer?
You are the first line on the reseller model, escalating to MANTIS for anything hardware or platform related. Daily health reporting removes a large share of the calls that would otherwise reach you, because faults surface before the customer notices them.
What training is provided?
Sales certification for the people quoting it and technical certification for the people fitting and supporting it. Both are delivered during onboarding and refreshed when the product range changes. Certification is a condition of reseller status.
What marketing support is available?
Partner-facing product material, deal-level proposal support from your partner manager, and joint launch activity for integration partners. Nothing on this page requires you to build your own collateral from scratch.
Competitive position
How is this different from Samsara, Motive or Lytx?
Those platforms replace the telematics system your customer already runs, which puts them in competition with your existing contract. MANTIS sits inside Geotab or Webfleet, so you are adding a safety subscription to an account you already hold.
What if my customer already has cameras?
Camera estates get replaced when footage cannot be retrieved, when cameras fail silently, or when the evidence does not stand up in a claim. Those are the three arguments that win replacement deals, and health reporting is the one competitors struggle to answer.
Commercial terms, certification requirements and registration periods are set out in the partner agreement. Nothing on this page replaces it.
