1. What this notice covers.
This notice covers personal information we collect when you visit mantis.io, send us an inquiry, apply to become a partner or subscribe to something we publish.
It does not cover footage. Video, location and driving data recorded by a RECON system in a vehicle is handled under a separate notice, because the roles are different: the carrier running the fleet decides what is recorded, and we act on their instructions.
2. Who we are.
The business responsible for the personal information described here is MANTIS Live Inc, a Delaware corporation, registration number DE4704701, at 1515 E Cesar Chavez St, Ste 100, Ste R, Austin, TX 78702.
MANTIS also operates in the UK and Ireland through MANTIS Live Ltd, company number NI653181, registered at 189 Airport Road West, Belfast, BT3 9ED, Northern Ireland.

3. What we collect.
The categories below track the ones used in the California Consumer Privacy Act, so that this doubles as our notice at collection.

We do not take payments on this website. We do not collect sensitive personal information as the CPRA defines it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Please do not send us health or incident data through the inquiry form.
4. Who we disclose it to.
We do not sell personal information for money. We disclose it in four situations.
- Channel partners. MANTIS sells direct and through telematics service providers and their resellers. If your inquiry is best served by one of them we pass your details on, and we tell you at the point of inquiry.
- Service providers acting on our instructions: hosting, email, our CRM, and analytics providers.
- Advertising partners, where the marketing category is enabled. Under California law that counts as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can opt out below.
- Authorities, courts and regulators where the law requires it, and buyers or investors in the context of a corporate transaction.
5. Your choices about advertising.
You can turn off the marketing and statistics categories in our cookie settings at any time.
We honor the Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising for that browser, and we do not require you to fill anything in first.
Global Privacy Control is a different mechanism from the older Do Not Track header. We act on GPC. We do not act on Do Not Track, because browsers never agreed what it means.
6. State privacy rights.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and a growing list of other states have rights over personal information. We extend the following to every US resident rather than checking your address first.
- Know what we have collected about you, where it came from, why, and who we disclosed it to.
- Get a copy, in a portable format where the processing is automated.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete it, subject to the exceptions the law allows.
- Opt out of sharing for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Opt out of profiling that produces a legal or similarly significant effect. We do not do this on the website.
- Be free from retaliation for exercising any of the above. We do not offer a worse service to people who opt out.
Send requests to hello@mantis.io. We verify your identity against information we already hold before we act, and we respond within 45 days, extendable once where a request is complex. An authorized agent can act for you with written permission.
If we refuse a request you can appeal by replying to our decision. We answer appeals within 45 days and tell you how to contact your state attorney general if you are still not satisfied.

8. Where your information goes.
MANTIS operates in the US, the UK and Ireland, and some of our providers and colleagues are outside the United States. Information covered by this notice may be processed in the UK and the European Economic Area under written terms that hold those providers to the standards described here.
9. How we protect it.
Access is limited to the people who need it. Information is encrypted in transit. Providers are assessed before we use them and bound by written terms.
No system is immune, and saying otherwise would be the sort of claim we do not make. If a breach affects you we will notify you and the relevant authorities as state law requires.
10. Changes to this notice.
We update this notice when our practices change or the law does, and California requires us to review it at least once a year. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
